Vision
Water for Africa was founded to help get clean water to the people of the Horn of Africa. Our immediate goal is to keep as many people alive as possible until permanent solutions are implemented. While our primary work Is in Africa, we also help around the world.
Our secondary goal is to be available to help in natural disasters to provide immediate solutions for those in need. We have been involved helping the people of Vanuatu after a cyclone, the Philippines after historic storms there, and we were some of the first ones into Nepal after the earthquake.
The United Nations estimates that someone dies due to lack of clean water in Africa every 15 seconds. Our goal is to raise money to specifically help those in the refugee camps in Ethiopia and Kenya that border Somalia. Working through Lutheran World Relief, we provide LifeStrawTM personal filtering devices for short term relief.
